Having once been a thrall of HLS, I can tell you this is going to get worse if it hasn't already. The best way to look at is if it's on the boss' system, they have every right to access and mine your emails and even your company phone conversations without your knowledge or permission. This is why I don't send any inflammitory emails or otherwise questionable content on a company's intranet. I also pass on the “discounted” company phone.

Face it, with technological advances in communication, privacy is largely a thing of the past. With just a few items of information about any individual, a $25-$150 fee to a number of data mining groups would provide me with everything on that individual to totally target and manipulate them. The 4th Amendment was changed after 9-11 at airport security checkpoints. I discovered early on this was just an introctrination of the public as to what was the ultimate goal. For 5 years now, people have just gone along out of fear, obedience or just plain cattle mentality, allowing this subversion of their rights to continue. The first 3 years of this finally made me ill of my guileless collusion once I finally woke up to the insidiousness of a system open to corruption and special interests. Your home, your life, what's left of what you thought was your privacy, is next. The Consititution is slowly being eroded by neglect, obfuscation and misdirection.

Sorry this is such a dark response but this is how I feel now that I lived it for 3 years. I haven't flown because of it. I seek a way to repair it. I seek redemption by railing against it.
