The next month should see further action in the doomsday lawsuit filed in March - the one claiming that mini-black holes from Europe's Large Hadron Collider could destroy the world. The plaintiffs in the case, Luis Sancho and Walter Wagner, want the CERN particle-physics center to put the $8 billion project on hold until more questions about such a scenario (and others) are answered to their satisfaction.

MySpace has won a legal battle, against spammers Sanford Wallace and Walter Rines, according to an AP report. The battle ended in a $234 million judgment by a Las Angles court, ruling against some of the most notable spammers, thanks to their antics on popular social networking site MySpace, and even some massive spamming campaigns throughout the 1990s.

Looks like a lawsuit filed against Facebook has paid off for Lindsey Abrams. She had sued the popular social network for a barrage of text messages that were being sent from the site. The text messages were for the previous owner of her cell phone number, who had apparently not updated their information on his Facebook profile.

Now, as sent in by Jon, comes the news that Apple and Think Secret have "settled," but that settlement means that Think Secret needs to cease publishing entirely. The guy behind Think Secret notes that he never gave up the source, and calls this settlement amicable -- but it sets a horrible precedent for plenty of sites, and may create quite the chilling effect on reporters and bloggers alike. It's really a shame that Apple even decided to pursue this vendetta, and the fact that it ends with Think Secret being shut down completely is a travesty.
